To support the implementation of Global Aviation Safety Plan (GASP) and the activities of the Regional Aviation Safety Group EUR (RASG-EUR) aiming to improve runway safety, the ICAO EUR/NAT Office conducted a Runway Safety Go-Team mission to Minsk National Airport, Belarus from 17 to 19 December 2019.
This mission consisted of 3 days mission with a Runway Safety Workshop for the first day; a Visit to Minsk-2 (UMMS) airport including ATC tower and maneuvering area for the second day and a Runway Safety Team (RST) meeting of UMMS aerodrome on the third day.
The workshop provided on day 1 was attended by approx. 40 participants from the Department of aviation of the Republic of Belarus, Belarus ANSP, Minsk-2 airport, firefighting personnel and ground handling companies. The Runway Safety go-team members included 3 staff members (two Safety and one ANS) of the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office, one ANS expert from EUROCONTROL and 3 AGA experts (2 from Brussels airport, representing ACI and one from Pulkovo airport).
