RASGs and PIRGs

 

The regional planning and implementation process, through the planning and implementation regional groups (PIRGs) and regional aviation safety groups (RASGs), is central to ICAO’s work programme relating to safety and air navigation. A review of the reporting structure and update of the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the PIRGs and RASGs is underway.

 

During 2018 the following PIRGs and RASGs meetings were conducted:

 

  • Eighteenth meeting of the CAR/SAM Regional Planning and Implementation Group (GREPECAS/18)
  • Fifty-fourth meeting of the North Atlantic Systems Planning Group (NATSPG/54)
  • Twenty-ninth meeting of the ASIA/Pacific Air Navigation Planning and Implementation Regional Group (APANPIRG/29) and the eighth meeting of the Regional Aviation Safety Group – Asia and Pacific Regions (RASG-APAC/8)
  • Thirtieth and thirty-first meetings of the Regional Aviation Safety Group — Pan America Executive Steering Committee Meetings (RASG-PA ESC/30 and 31)
  • Sixtieth meeting of the European Air Navigation Planning Group (EANPG/60) and seventh meeting of the European Regional Aviation Safety Group (RASG-EUR/7);
  • Fourth and fifth meetings of the Regional Aviation Safety Group for Africa – Indian Ocean Region (RASG–AFI) Steering Committee (RASC/4 and 5)
  • AFI Planning and Implementation Regional Group (APIRG) Projects Coordination Committee (APCC)
  • Sixth meeting of the RASG-MID Steering Committee RASG–MID Steering Committee (RSC/6);
  • Sixth meeting of the MIDANPIRG Steering Group (MSG/6); and
  • Eighth meeting of the RASG-APAC/8.
