Voluntary Support for ICAO’s Work
The first contribution to the Voluntary Air Transport Fund, established in April 2014, was received from the Dominican Republic. Efforts were made in order to raise the awareness of States and other donors of the existence and objective of the Fund. The Secretariat continued to seek contributions on an ongoing basis through promotion of the Fund on-line and during events, and through cooperation with other international organizations and UN agencies. The webpage of the Fund is updated on a continuous basis, and more detailed project proposals to be financed by the Fund are being developed. A new project proposal “Gender Equality in the Global Air Transport Sector” was added to the list of existing proposals to broaden the portfolio of the Fund.
