Council President recognizes Indonesia's enhanced ICAO compliance

The President of the ICAO Council, Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu (second from left), presented a Council President Certificate today to Mr. Agus Santoso, Director General of Civil Aviation at ICAO’s headquarters in Montréal in recognition of Indonesia’s achievements in 2017 towards resolving safety oversight deficiencies and improving the effective implementation of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).

Also in attendance for Indonesia were Messrs. Fransiscus Budi Prayitno and Andy Aron, Alternate Representatives of Indonesia to ICAO.

The ICAO Council established the Council President Certificates in 2015, in support of ICAO’s “No Country Left Behind” initiative. Their aim is to more publicly acknowledge the activities and commitments of ICAO Member States which are geared toward the more Effective Implementation (EI) of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices.

The eligibility criteria used are objective and transparent and based on the results of ICAO’s Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme Continuous Monitoring Approach activities.
