BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

The webinar will focus on the safety measures recommended for the conduct of accident investigations, in particular those related to the actions in the field, to be taken from the perspective of the State of Occurence.

SPEAKER BIO:

Fernando S. A. de Camargo has a long career in the aviation industry, including 27 years as a Brazilian Air Force pilot, held relevant positions in the Brazilian safety centre (the CENIPA), up to Deputy-Chief, and extensive experience as a Master Accident Investigator, civil aviation OPS Inspector, Legal Consultant and project manager untill January 2019.

 

He holds a BS degree in Aeronautical Sciences from the Brazilian Air Force Academy, a BA degree in Law from the Catholic University of Santos, and a Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, in the field of Aviation Safety and Continuing Airworthiness, from the Aeronautical Institute of Technology.

 

He was a member of the Committee of Aviation Experts appointed by the Federal Senate to draft a new Bill on the Brazilian Aeronautical Code (2015 - 2016). He has been part of the ICAO USOAP programme since 2008, as an auditor in the area of aircraft accident investigation and as a Team Leader. He is now the Regional Officer in charge of Technical Assistance, and the AIG focal point in the ICAO Regional Office for North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACC RO).
