The ICAO Webinar on Innovation for the NAM/CAR/SAM regions explores several cutting-edge concepts that will help to shape the future of the air transport. The webinar is oriented to representatives of NAM/CAR/SAM States, private sector and organizations related to civil aviation and serves as an appetizer of the upcoming Innovation Fair 2022 (24-26 September 2022) within the context of the 41st ICAO Assembly.

Francisco Javier Santiago Pergolesi, Jefe Regional de Aeronáutica Civil de Bolivia, Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil – DGAC


He has a superior technical training in Human Resources Administration at the Technological Private University of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. As for his training in civil aviation, he is a Cabin Crew and private pilot certificate, having served as Cabin Crew at Lloyd Aéreo Boliviano and Aerosur, and was also Head of training and safety at Aerocon (airline). Coursed the theoretical training of Auditor of Operations and Dangerous Goods of the Universal Security Audit Program (USOAP) of ICAO, currently serves as National Coordinator of Continuous Monitoring of the USOAP Program, Focal Point of the Safety Oversight Cooperation System (SRVSOP) and responsible for Dangerous Goods. Likewise, he works as an instructor in the DGAC, in the courses of Induction, Government Operations Inspector, Certification and Surveillance of Air Services Operators, as well as for the SRVSOP.

 

 

 

 

 

Ricardo Cano, Head of Aviation Technology, Cyber & Fraud Prevention, Latin America & Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA)


Aviation professional with over 20 years' experience in different airlines and distribution systems in Latin America. Large experience in airlines operations and strategic planning, including Pricing & Revenue Management. His career includes BSP & Compliance management at IATA and Airlines Relations management at BH Airport in Brazil. Peter Leydold, Director of Business Unit ATM Networks, Frequentis 


Peter is Director of Business Unit ATM Networks at Frequentis. Peter has 20 years of experience in Air Traffic Management. He began his career as Integration Engineer in product development. During his career he has been responsible for the architecture of ATM solutions across the globe and also spent 4 years in the US working on different FAA projects. Today, he is responsible for delivering safe and secure ATM Grade network solutions for the most critical operational applications in Air Traffic. 

 

 

 

Pablo Fernandez Izquierdo, Business Development Manager, LATAM & Caribbean, Thales

 

Computer Engineer from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas de Madrid (ICAI) and Executive MBA. 27 years of experience in different companies and sectors, having dedicated 22 years to the aeronautical world as Systems Engineer, ATM expert, responsible for commissioning/installing systems, Bid Manager and Program Manager in several countries around the world. Currently Business Development Manager for all of LATAM and the Caribbean for Thales.

 

 

 

Werner Messiner, Product Business Manager


Werner has over 15 years of experience in strategic product management, 7 thereof in the safety-critical domain of Air Traffic Management networks. Over the last years he had a focus on the Asian and LATAM region with the intent to strengthen the networks business through knowledge transfer to the markets and inclusion of local needs into the product roadmap. Since 2020 he is heading the ATM networks offering and business development team which allows an even stronger focus on the innovative aspect of the ATM networks business.

 

 

Julio Antonio Díaz Cruz, Manager of Environmental Protection at Airports and Auxiliary Services (ASA) in Mexico

  
He completed postgraduate studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), specializing in geography and territorial planning. He holds a law degree from the University of the Americas-Puebla (UDLAP). He was Environmental Manager of the Mexico City Airport Group. During the last 15 years, Julio has worked as an advisor and consultant on infrastructure projects, especially in the airport and energy sectors, as an advisor to public and private companies in Mexico. In addition, he worked at the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources in the evaluation of transportation projects at the federal level in Mexico. He currently works as Manager of Environmental Protection at Airports and Auxiliary Services (ASA) in Mexico, where he has been designing a Corporate Sustainability Strategy within which the implementation of Sustainable Fuels for aviation is contemplated.

 

 

 

 

José Ignacio Rodriguez, 

       
ATM, UTM, UAM Expert with 15 years of polyvalent experience in aerospace and air traffic. Telecommunications Eng., Master in Commercial Management and PMP&ITIL certified. Currently developing the infrastructures and vertiports for Urban and Advanced Air Mobility, after performing roles as Commercial Director of an eVTOL OEM and Air Traffic Systems, UTM Product Manager, PMP and Safety Manager. Nacho has an extensive career in the aeronautical information domain deploying AIM systems in over 20 countries worldwide. Since 2018, he is working in complex projects related to UAVs, UTM and UAM/AAM
