The Air Transport Symposium will be held at the ECOWAS Parliament, International Conference Centre, Abuja, Nigeria, from 28 - 30 April, 2008.

Delegates can register by completing Registration Forms on the ICAO Website, or at the following places during the specified times.

Sunday 27th April 2008 Venue: Sheraton Hotel Time : 16 : 00 - 19 : 00 hrs

OR

Monday 28th April 2008 Venue : ECOWAS Parliament, International Conference Centre Time : from 07 : 00 hrs

6. Opening Session
   
   The Opening Session will take place at 09.00 hrs on Monday, 28 April 2008, at the ECOWAS Parliament, International Conference Centre, Abuja, Nigeria.
    
7. Languages
   
   The Workshop will be conducted in both French and English, with simultaneous interpretation.
    
8. Hotels
   
   
9. Below is a list of Hotels and rates. Delegates are advised to make their reservations directly with the hotels. Confirmed hotel reservations and travel itineraries should be forwarded to the contact persons at least two weeks prior to the Symposium so that delegates can be met on arrival and conveyed to the hotels of their choice.
    
10. Transportation
    
    Transportation will be available from both the local and international wings of the Abuja Airport from the morning of Friday April 25, until the departure of delegates.
    • Shuttle services from the international wing of the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos to the local Wing will also be available during this period.
    • Transportation will also be available between the various hotels and the venue of the Symposium
       
11. Entry Visas
    
    Participants should ascertain the entry requirement for Nigeria as it applies to their respective member States and where necessary, obtain a visa from the nearest Embassy High Commission maintained by the government of Nigeria.

No visa will be issued on entry into Nigeria. However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already been advised of the forthcoming Symposium to facilitate the issuance of visa by Embassies/High Commissions

11. Temperature and clothing
    
    Abuja climate in April is humid with temperature as high as 28-32 degrees centigrade. Therefore, light and comfortable clothing is advised.
     
12. Currency
    
    The Naira is the currency in use in Nigeria.
    1USD=118 Naira approximately.
     
13. Bank Services
    
    Travellers’ cheques and currencies of most countries can be cashed at the commercial banks. International credit cards (Visa, Diners Club, MasterCard, American Express) are accepted at most of the selected hotels for the Symposium.
     
14. Health Services
    
    Medical services are of high standards and most international prescription drugs are readily available through retail pharmacies. It is suggested that participants take out personal medical insurance for the duration of the trip.
     
15. Electricity
    
    220 Volts using the rectangular three-pin plugs.
     
16. Airport departure tax
    
    Airport taxes are normally included in the cost of air tickets.
     
17. Passport and visa requirements / Passeport et de visa

A valid passport and visa are required for citizens from certain countries. To this effect, delegates are kindly requested to complete the formalities in advance in order to obtain entry visa from any Nigerian Embassy, prior to departure. Any additional information can be verified at the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
