The ICAO Regional Security Culture Seminar was organized from 30 June to 1 July by the EUR/NAT Regional Office in coordination with ICAO Headquarters Year of Security Culture (YOSC) Project Team.
The seminar was held to mark the Year of Security Culture and provide a region-wide platform for the States in the EUR/NAT regions, the Regional Organizations and Industry representatives to exchange, share experience and best practices as well as discuss the challenges of Security Culture Implementation.
During the two-day seminar, a great variety of subjects were addressed such as updates on the ICAO initiatives and tools developed to support States in their efforts to promote and enhance Security Culture, practical examples of strategies and actions undertaken by States, national campaigns to raise awareness and promote Security Culture, as well as information on available guidance material, Cybersecurity Culture within Air Traffic Management, Security Culture in Cargo Operations, parallels between Safety and Security Culture implementation strategies, perspectives of Security Culture implementation on industry level.
The seminar, which was held in English and Russian languages, welcomed 200 participants from 38 States, 7 British Overseas Territories from North American, Central American and Caribbean Regions, 7 International and Regional Organizations, Industry representatives as well as Regional Officers for Aviation Security and Facilitations from other ICAO regional offices.
