The Second Global Aviation Cooperation Symposium (GACS 2) to be held in Athens, Greece from 11 to 13 October 2017, will carry a theme of "Managing Change: Building a Safe, Secure and Sustainable Aviation Community." Aviation professionals will be able to exchange their views and discuss challenges and opportunities related to their fields. It will serve as a forum for regulators, service providers, operators and other industry stakeholders to meet and exchange their experiences and best practices in implementing technical cooperation and technical assistance projects.
ICAO's Technical Cooperation Programme provides States with assistance in the development and implementation of projects to meet their obligations under the Chicago Convention. Subject to general guidance by the Secretary General, the Technical Cooperation Programme is executed by the Technical Cooperation Bureau (TCB). TCB's vision is to enable States to attain high civil aviation standards. This benefits the global economies and social areas where air transport and related civil aviation industries operate. TCB understands the hopes and challenges of the developing world and can assist in realizing those hopes and overcoming those challenges.
