Collaborative Arrangement for the Prevention and management of public health events in Civil Aviation (CAPSCA) EUR 06 meeting in Minsk, Belarus, 12-14 July 2017

The CAPSCA EUR 06 meeting and Technical Advisors Training (12-14/07/2017) was successfully conducted, in close cooperation with WHO Europe The meeting was  hosted by Belarus (AVIAMED/Public Health Authority and CAA)  and was attended by 89 participants, coming from 26 States and 3 International Organizations. Minister of Health and Director of CAA Belarus opened the meeting.

CAPSCA EUR 06 was dedicated to the ICAO SARPS and WHO IHR, concerning designation of airports as Points Of Entry (POE) and the necessary capacity building required during preparatory  and crisis management phases. The ICAO Training Package (ITP),  a Computer Based Training for  CAPSCA Technical Advisors, which was developed by CAPSCA EUR , according to ICAO GAT  requirements and   in coordination with WHO and JAA TO (ICAO RCTE), was also presented during the meeting.

During the third day (14/07/2017) a full scale exercise, was organized at the MINSK Airport by the AVIAMED and the CAA  for the training of the CAPSCA EUR Technical Advisors. An extensive debriefing and lessons learned session under the guidance of C/MED/ANB  and  CAPSCA Global Technical Advisor, followed. The training was concluded with a study tour at the training center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus.
