Moscow (Russian Federation), 22-25 April 2014 –The third meeting of the ICAO EUR Regional Expert Safety Team (IE-REST/03) was held in Moscow, Russian Federation, from 22 to 25 April 2014. 87 participants, from 14 States and 5 International/Regional Organizations, attended the meeting, which was hosted by the Interstate Aviation Committee.
The meeting helped progress the activities of the four IE-REST groups:

The “IE-REST Pilot Training Group” (IE-PTG), which addresses issues related to pilot training;

The “IE-REST Runway Safety Group” (IE-RSG), which addresses issues related to runway safety, including the support to the establishment and operation of Local Runway Safety Teams (LRSTs);

The “IE-REST Flight Data Analysis and Air Operator Safety Management System Group” (IE-FDG), which addresses issues related to Flight Data Analysis and air operators’ Safety Management Systems (SMS); and

The “IE-REST Taxonomy and Safety Data Analysis Group” (IE-TSG), which addresses issues related to safety data taxonomy and analysis.
In particular, the IE-REST/03 included workshops of the IE-RSG and IE-TSG during the first two days. The next IE-REST meeting (IE-REST/04) will be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from 23 to 26 September 2014 and will include an IE-PTG workshop during the first two days.
