289 participants from 53 States, five International Organizations and 17 Industry Exhibitors attended the IFAIMA Global AIM 2013 & ICAO EUR/MID AIM/SWIM Seminar which was jointly organized by IFAIMA, ICAO and EUROCONTROL and hosted by the Turkish Air Navigation Service Provider (DHMI) and the Turkish AIM Association (TAIMA). It was moderated by Mr. Michael Hohm, Technical Officer – Aeronautical Information Management, Air Navigation Bureau, ICAO HQ and supported by Mr. Mohamed Smaoui, Regional Officer, Air Navigation Services/Aeronautical Information Management, ICAO MID Office.*
 
 

The theme of the event was the “Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) support to seamless Air Traffic Management (ATM) in a System Wide Information Management (SWIM) environment”.

   
  

The 60th Anniversary of the Aeronautical Information Service - “AIS Jubilee” was celebrated on the second day of the event, 15 May 2013.

   
 

 

The main objectives of the Seminar were as follows: 

 
 
    1. to provide States with a better understanding of the planning and implementation issues related to the transition from AIS to AIM;
    2.  
    3. to provide briefings related to AIM and SWIM global developments and regional/national AIM-related activities and experiences; and
    4.  
    5. to address the AIM/SWIM challenges/opportunities and obtain Users’ requirements and views
