One stamp of this issue was utilized to commemorate the first flight between Sana’a, Yemen and Frankfurt, Germany (with stop in Amman, Jordan) by Lufthansa with a Boeing 727 (Flight LH 627) on 30 March 1986.

The cachet on the card shows the Dar-al-Hajar (also named Rock Palace), which is a palace located in the Wadi Dhar valley near Sanaa, capital of Yemen.

Background: For an unknown reason (maybe a lack of space), the word Civil is missing in name of the Organization on all four stamps of this issue. Moreover, this set shows a hand-drawn and poor design of the 40th anniversary emblem: the wings are not correctly hooked to the center part of the logo and hence provide an overall uneven aspect of the design.
