This Regional Performance Dashboards aim to provide a glance of both Safety and Air Navigation Capacity and Efficiency strategic objectives, using a set of indicators and targets based on the regional implementation of the Global Aviation Safety Plan (GASP) and the Global Air Navigation Plan (GANP).

DISCLAIMER: This version is still a work-in-progress, and will be improved in both performance and quality of data/information in further versions. Some metrics used in this Dashboard are still under discussion, and data collection is currently ongoing for better representative metrics.

Metric: Gap between the 3-year global and regional accident rates

Description: This metric is calculated by using the average accident rate for the selected region for the past 3 years, and then comparing it against the 3-year Global Accident rate (e.g. 3.8 for 2010-2012, 2.5 for 2011-2013). The accident statistics used is from ICAO (published in the Safety Reports), as well as scheduled commercial departures from the Official Airlines Guide (OAG).

Measurement: Accidents per million scheduled commercial departures on aircraft above 2 250kg

Metric: Gap between the 3-year global and regional percentage of accidents

Description: This metric is calculated by using the average percentage of accidents for specific accident categories (as defined in ADREP e.g. RE, RI, CFIT, LOC-I), for the selected region for the past 3 years. This is then compared against the 3-year global percentages for the same accident categories.

Measurement: Accidents limited to scheduled commercial departures on aircraft above 2 250kg
