ICAO provides access to its metrics via REST APIs. The list of resources and metrics is provided here under. For information on how to access and use those metrics, please consult the REST API page. You can also view the metrics on a map using our Map Builder application.

Resources

Metrics are bundled into resources. Resources resolve in unique URLs which when called, return all the metrics contained in the bundle. See the REST API page for more details. All available resources listed here under. Select a resource to see the included metrics. Click on the name of a resource to get more information about it like the source or the update frequency.

The download link can be used to quickly get the current (no history) full data for the World in CSV format. A valid API Key will be needed. Check out the Try-it section at the end of this page for more options.

Metrics

Each resource contains a certain number of metrics. In contrary to pure data, metrics are always numbers or a booleans intepreted as numbers (yes=1, no=0). Metrics can be used to build indicators including key performance indicators (KPIs). Click on the name of the metric to see more information.

Costs

The costs related to the use of REST APIs for metrics are meant to cover the operating costs related to the web service rather than the value of the underlying data. In that sens, ICAO has set up a very simple pricing scheme for REST APIs on metrics. API Keys with various number of tokens can be bought from the ICAO online store. For trial keys, refer to the REST API page.

1 REST API Call = 1 Token

Try it

You can call the REST APis using a browser, a server or you can call them manually using this tool.

Select a resource from the drop-down menu and set the other parameters as needed. For the tool to work, you need to have purchased an API Key from the store with a sufficient number of tokens and put the key into the form.

The tool will indicate you, how many tokens will be debited once you execute the call.
