| VISION FOR ICAO ON GENDER EQUALITY |
ICAO is an organization that is internationally recognized for ensuring gender equality through gender mainstreaming and the empowerment of women. This vision is guided by the following principles:
- ensuring equal opportunities for women and men to be represented in all areas of ICAO's activities;
- achieving equal numbers of women and men at all levels of the professionnal category within ICAO;
- ensuring gender mainstreaming as an integral dimension of ICAO'ss policies and programmes;
- empowering women and giving equal value to the work and responsibilities of both women and men; and
- eliminating prejudice, stereotypes and discrimination related to sex/gender.
