Sustainable alternative fuels the potential to be a key element in reducing aviation’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The purpose of the Global Framework for Aviation Alternative Fuels (GFAFF) is to showcase existing activities and communicate what the international community expects to achieve in the area of aviation sustainable alternative fuels.
This page will be regularly updated to highlight the work already accomplished and describing the objectives of future activities, as new information becomes available, illustrating the status of key objectives and providing background and reference materials for relevant activities. The GFAFF was launched at the ICAO Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels in 2009 as part of our strategy for addressing international aviation’s contribution to climate change.
ICAO encourages States/Organizations/Companies/Initiators/Research Institutes to share their initiatives on
