Summary

A4A urges Congress to accelerate policies for viable alternative jet fuels

Airlines for America (A4A) made a statement before the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry addressing the key role U.S. airlines are playing to stimulate the development and deployment of commercially viable and environmentally friendly alternative jet fuels, and urging the Committee to continue to support public-private partnerships to advance these fuels.

A4A noted the increasing burden of fuel costs for airlines in spite of their efforts to reduce fuel consumption, and the benefit of a domestic supply of alternative jet fuels for job creation and economic development. A4A highlighted the progress made through the CAAFI partnership or the Farm-to-Fly program and urged Congress and the Administration to support "key public-private partnerships that provide the stability needed to accelerate the promise of alternative aviation fuels in the U.S. aviation industry and beyond".
