The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and IATA have joined forces to establish the partnership program I-TRAIN under the IATA-ICAO Global Training Alliance in order to develop the training professionals in the aviation industry.
The curriculum has been built on the results of the ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program (USOAP) and IATA Standards which identified the lack of establishment of adequate training programs and training plans for all staff of civil aviation authorities, including managers in charge of planning and controlling safety oversight activities.
The IATA-ICAO I-TRAIN Diploma programs have several specializations. The first one that is being offered is the
o Human Resource Management (IATA),
o Project Management Essentials (IATA),
o Leadership Development & Succession Planning (IATA), and
o Safety Management & Oversight (ICAO).
In addition to these courses the diploma program will also offer two Aircraft Operations specialization courses:
o Operations Excellence (IATA) and
o Flight Operations (ICAO).
The other specializations are currently under development and will be announced as soon as they are ready to be launched. These include but are not limited to the following:
o Personnel Licensing Management
o Aviation Training Management
o Aviation Safety Management
o Airworthiness of Aircraft Management
