ICAO REGIONAL COURSE DEVELOPERS AND INSTRUCTORS
STANDARDIZATION MEETING: Training Tactics and Sustainable Strategies

 

The International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) Global Aviation Training (GAT) Office will convene an ICAO Course Developers and Instructors Standardization (CDI/STD) Meetings for the Americas region to be held in Bogota, Colombia, from 12 to 14 December 2016.

 

This meeting will be graciously hosted by the Centro de Estudios de Ciencias Aeronáuticas (CEA) of the Civil Aviation Authority of Colombia (UAEAC), an ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Associate Member. The languages of the meeting will be English and Spanish with simultaneous interpretation.

 

 

 

Purpose of the Meeting

The objective of the CDI/STD meeting is to provide training professionals with a unique opportunity to address challenges, identify solutions and exchange best practices for the improvement of training deliverables.

 

The meeting consists of a series of dynamic sessions where participants will focus on training tactics to enhance effectiveness of training methodologies, and sustainable strategies for standardizing and extending best training practices throughout their organizations and beyond.


Overall, the meetings will enable training professionals from diverse organizations to engage with each other to determine the best way forward in their capacity-building endeavours. Networking opportunities during this event will also encourage greater collaboration in training and the creation of new training partnerships.

 

Learning Objectives

At the end of the meeting, participants will be able to:

 
• Perfect the Preliminary Study;
• Assume the Importance of the DACUM Session;
• Leverage the Post-Training Evaluation Data; and 
• Maintain Instructor Competencies.

 

Programme

The 3 day standardization meeting will comprise 8 sessions addressing specific training tactics and sustainable strategies. Each session will be led by an expert who will offer their solutions to training challenges for participant's consideration.

Target Population

This meeting is most beneficial for individuals working with Civil Aviation Authorities, training organizations, and other aviation stakeholders involved in the development and implementation of civil aviation training. Participants will be invited to share their concerns, problems, best practices, and find solutions with regard to course development and instructional techniques in civil aviation training.

 

In addition to TRAINAIR PLUS Programme (TPP) Members, representatives of training departments of civil aviation authorities, and aviation training organizations are encouraged to participate.

 

Duration

The event will be held over a three full day period, with sessions from 9:00 to 17:00.

 

Language of the Meeting

The languages of the meeting will be English and Spanish with simultaneous interpretation.
