The eighth meeting of the ICAO Council Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP/8) began at ICAO Headquarters on Monday, 1 February and runs through 12 February.
Over the next two weeks, the Committee is expected to recommend new standards for NOx and agree on future work for improving aircraft noise standards. The committee will also agree on steps to finalize standards for aircraft CO2 emissions.
More specifically, the Committee will focus on:
The assessment of the present and future impact of aircraft noise and emissions
Technical proposals relating to aircraft engine emissions
Market-based measures relating to aircraft engine emissions
Proposals relating to aircraft noise
Future work of CAEP
