The ICAO/World Bank/Routes Global Strategy Summit was a unique event where airline and airport Chairmen and CEOs came together in an informal setting to discuss the key issues currently affecting the air transport industry. The Summit, hosted by Beijing Capital International Airport, took place at New China International Exhibition Centre, Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th September and was moderated by the BBC’s Aaron Heslehurst and JLS’s John Strickland.

The event offered vibrant and stimulating interchanges between industry leaders. The aim was not to dwell on the past but to try and explore the way forward.

The Summit was held alongside the 15th World Route Development Forum at which event ICAO hosted an exhibition booth (13 to 15 September). We welcomed many visitors and had the pleasure to share ICAO's activities and opportunities with them. A raffle was also held with the prize being a model jet Concorde donated by ICAO's staff association.

Invitations to attend this Summit were issued to civil aviation authorities of ICAO Contracting States and international organizations usually invited to ICAO meetings. Invitations were also transmitted by The World Bank and Routes to industry leaders.
