Paris, France 9 to 17 February 2015 – Following the ICAO auditor’s re-certification training which was successfully completed by 21 AVSEC experts in November 2014, an ICAO auditor’s certification course for new candidates was conducted between 9 and 17 February 2015 in Paris.

12 AVSEC experts from 8 States were prepared as ICAO AVSEC auditors for the Universal Security Audit Programme (USAP) Continuous Monitoring Approach (CMA). The intensive training aimed to certify new ICAO auditors to enlarge the amount of competent auditors in the EUR/ NAT regions.

The USAP-CMA was launched in January 2015 to ensure ongoing compliance of Member States with ICAO security related provisions, while assessing States oversight capabilities making effective and efficient use of the resources available to the programme.

The auditor’s certification course completed the preparation of ICAO Member States for the new USAP-CMA audit approach. Two seminars for States (Paris May 2014 and Moscow June 2014) and two auditor’s trainings (Paris November 2014 and February 2015) were conducted in EUR/NAT to assure awareness and knowledge in the Member States.
